Partnering with the NCPA Foundation offers a unique opportunity
to make a difference in independent community pharmacy
on a personal and professional level.
The NCPA Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, charitable organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted under federal tax law.
NCPA Foundation Presidential Scholarship Partner Program
The NCPA Foundation Presidential Scholarships benefit full-time pharmacy students on the basis of leadership, academic achievement, and a demonstrated interest in independent community pharmacy. This is an excellent opportunity to promote your company's support of independent pharmacy to students.
Each Presidential Scholarship secures $3,500 in educational assistance and student participation in the NCPA Foundation Awards Ceremony at the NCPA Annual Convention, October 17, 2009 - October 21, 2009 in New Orleans, LA. Last year, 18 deserving pharmacy students were awarded a Presidential Scholarship at the NCPA Foundation Awards Ceremony and Reception during the NCPA Annual Convention. With your support, it is our goal to promote an increasing number of Presidential Scholarship Partners.
As a scholarship benefactor, your company's visibility is promoted in numerous ways, such as prominent acknowledgement with your company's logo on the NCPA Foundation website, promotions, press releases, and visibility during the NCPA Annual Convention. Additional sponsor benefits are listed on the Pledge Form.
Become a 2009 Presidential Scholarship Partner by completing the Pledge Form. If you have questions, please contact NCPA Foundation Executive Director Kathryn Kuhn, R.Ph., at 703-838-2654 or via email at kathryn.kuhn@ncpanet.org.
Endow a Scholarship in Your Company's Name
You may also want to consider a NCPA Foundation Endowed Scholarship in your company's name that includes additional scholarship criteria to reflect a core business value, such as a company's emphasis on restoring and preserving health through self-care. Connecting your company with this type of student support early in the development of students' professional careers helps create brand recognition for your company and it advances the significance of your company's values, ideas, and philosophy.
A NCPA Foundation Endowed Scholarship entails a contribution that is higher than the typical annual contribution to support a Presidential Scholarship. This is because the gift of an endowed scholarship to the NCPA Foundation becomes permanently restricted and it is invested with the principal remaining intact in perpetuity. The annual interest earnings from Endowed Scholarships provide the annual educational assistance in perpetuity. This allows the contribution to have a much greater impact over a long period of time than if it were a one-time gift or spent all at once.
An Endowed Scholarship may be gifted all at once or a Pledge can be executed to fund an Endowed Scholarship over a number of years. Remember, the NCPA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, charitable organization, so your contribution can be tax-deductible as a charitable donation to the extent permitted under federal tax law.
As an Endowed Scholarship benefactor, your company will receive a high level of visibility. If you would like to discuss an Endowed Scholarship, please contact Kathryn Kuhn directly at (703)838-2654 or via email at kathryn.kuhn@ncpanet.org.
