The NCPA Foundation is an independent nonprofit, philanthropic 501(c)(3) organization established in 1953.

Our mission is to improve community-based healthcare by advancing the sustainability, growth, and public understanding of independent community pharmacists – the most accessible healthcare providers. 

Our vision for the future is a future where independent community pharmacies are accessible to all and recognized as vital to patient health. We ensure that anyone who aspires to own a pharmacy can achieve it, and that every owner can grow, adapt, and thrive- keeping the profession strong for generations to come.

While the foundation supports several programs and events that the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) provides to the independent pharmacy community, our organization is completely autonomous and relies on external support from individuals, foundations, and corporations to maintain our far-reaching programs. No NCPA board members or NCPA staff have any voting authority on our board.

We are a 501(c)(3) charity that has earned Charity Navigator’s four-star rating in the past and currently holds Candid’s Platinum Transparency seal. Contributions to the foundation are tax deductible as charitable donations to the extent permitted under federal tax law.
