A national philanthropic home for state pharmacy associations and independent pharmacy organizations.
State pharmacy associations, pharmacy foundations, and local groups do important charitable work, but many do not have the staff, systems, or tax-exempt status to raise and manage charitable gifts efficiently. The NCPA Foundation serves as a philanthropic umbrella for independent pharmacy. We offer two ways to partner, so your organization can focus on its mission while we handle the administration.

Why partner with the NCPA Foundation
- Lower overhead. Shared systems mean less of each gift goes to administration.
- Established nonprofit infrastructure. The Foundation has supported independent community pharmacy since 1953 and maintains public charity status, publicly available financial reports, and board oversight.
- More ways for donors to give. Partners can accept gifts of stock, donor-advised fund grants, and cryptocurrency without building those systems themselves.
- A stronger collective voice. Pooling philanthropic effort across organizations makes independent pharmacy more visible to national funders.
Requirements for fiscal sponsorship
Sponsored projects must be a separate legal entity, have their own FEIN, and carry general liability insurance. Projects must have a charitable purpose aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
How to get started
Submit a letter of inquiry. Then, Foundation staff will review your project for mission fit, and if aligned, send a full application.
The NCPA Foundation Board of Trustees make a final approval decision.
